Making the most from what Mother Nature throws at you was the theme for the 2024 season ending caravan. What turned out to be a mostly cloudy but dry day, members enjoyed a Sunday cruise through the back roads of the state before concluding the day with a stop at the Sunday River Brewery in Bethel, ME.
Mother Nature blessed everyone with a spectacular day
Another perfect day weatherwise was the backdrop for SOMEC 2nd caravan event, this time to visit the Maine Classic Car Museum in Arundel, ME
It's in the books! SOMEC held its first ever caravan event ! And what a day it turned out to be. 40 brave members despite the early morning rain came out to participate in our first visit to the NH Veteran's Home in Tilton, NH. We spent a few afternoon hours with the the amazing staff and of course the veterans, with our members being able to escort many of them out for personalized views of the 19 Corvettes on display. It was a day of emotions as many of these amazing people shared stories from their past and their love for cars they one owned. It was such an honor for us to give just a little to these men and women who have given us so much!
A day of coming together for a fellow Corvette family member who recently has been diagnosed with ALS. Several area Corvette clubs assembled in Littleton, MA hosted by our good friends over at Corvettes United of Central Mass for a car show to help raise funds for the family!
Thank you to Bruce Bell for sharing this short video of SONHC members arriving at the ALS Cruise for a Cure
30 beautiful Corvettes make the trek from Portsmouth NH up to the Portland Headlight Fort Williams park on Saturday May 18th. Mother Nature held off on the rain as 55 SONHC & SOMEC members enjoyed an afternoon visit followed up with the traditional Ice Cream stop to close out the day!
One of the really fun events we hold each year is the Laps For Charity Events at the NHIS! It's an opportunity for members to take their Corvettes out on the track for some semi hot laps! And raise a bunch of money for the Speedway Children's Charities ! This was the first of four scheduled LFC events in 2024.
